Hullo people. Want to see a poem I wrote for school? Ya you do. Here it is.
... actually, first, here's the Scripture that inspired the poem:
Jeremiah 17:7-8: “But
blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in
him. They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its
roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are
always green. It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails
to bear fruit.”
And here's the poem.
My dear, it hurts to see
you here,
Growing in the plain,
So far from any river
clear,
Whose flood might you
sustain.
Sweet tree, you reach your
branches
Ever upwards towards the
sun,
But slim indeed your
chances
Far from where the rivers
run.
A mile or so away from you
Run waters pure and sweet,
Glass-clear with Truth
that once you knew
When they ran by your
feet.
Without Truth you cannot
stand,
You will wither, you will
die:
Let me take you from the
sand
And bring you to the
water's side.
